Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield have finally made their way to Fortnite and the community cannot contain their excitement. With the Resident Evil 4 Remake officially releasing on March 24, 2023, it was only obvious that Epic Games wanted another collaboration with the iconic franchise.

That being said, the only way to obtain the Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield Outfits in-game is to purchase them from the Item Shop. While players do get the chance to win them via in-game tournaments at times, there's nothing of that sort available at the moment.

How much do the Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield Outfits cost in Fortnite?

There are two ways to look at the costing of these cosmetic items. Players can either buy the Outfits individually or purchase the bundle associated with the collaboration, with the latter usually being the better option.

Each Outfit costs 1,500 V-Bucks and is accompanied by their respective Back Bling. Each Harvesting Tool will cost 500 V-Bucks. The bundle (Raccoon City Survivors), on the other hand, costs only 2,100 V-Bucks and contains both of these Outfits, two Back Blings, and two Harvesting Tools.

Here's the complete set of cosmetic items that's part of the newest Resident Evil collaboration:

  • Leon S. Kennedy (Outfit)
  • Claire Redfield (Outfit)
  • Attaché Case (Back Bling)
  • R.P.D. Keys (Back Bling)
  • Leon's Combat Knife (Harvesting Tool)
  • Umbrella Parasol (Harvesting Tool)

As these cosmetic items are part of the Gaming Series, they should be in the Item Shop for a fair amount of time. With the game releasing on March 24, 2023, they will be available until then at the very least. That said, with the hype surrounding the franchise and characters at an all-time high, this is yet another major 'win' for the community.

What do fans think about the Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield Outfits in Fortnite?

@ShiinaBR they don't look like fortnite skins but they're still cool

While there is no doubt that both of these Outfits were made with precision and care, the community does have some feedback about how they could have been made better.

One user pointed out that the Outfits should have had 'styles' the same way that Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield did during the first Resident Evil collaboration. With 'styles' being a huge deal in general, having that option available would have made the Outfits far more alluring.

@ShiinaBR They should’ve had edit styles. One with Leon’s jacket and the other with Claire in her classic outfit. I mean aside from that their great. Very well done. https://t.co/yKZvAPsRN9

Other than this critique, most users are quite content with the Outfits and the cosmetic items associated with them. However, there is some outcry about the developers not bringing back the older Outfits (Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield) to the Item Shop as well.

This was likely done to funnel all of the focus onto this newer collaboration. It's possible that sometime in the future, perhaps during Fortnitemares 2023, all four Outfits/characters from the Resident Evil franchise will be added to the Item Shop together. With that being said, here are a few more reactions from fans:

@ShiinaBR Claire’s face looks a bit off. And I’m a little sad they don’t have styles like Leon’s jacket or rpd uniform and Claire’s classic style.
@ShiinaBR i wish they had styles BUT YES I LOVE THEM
@ShiinaBR Leon doesnt have his jacket OR rpd uniform big missed opportunity
@ShiinaBR its kinda disappointing that leon doesnt have any other edit styles and the other RE stuff didnt come back but its still pretty good
@ShiinaBR Yes but both them should had got Styles especially Leon there was such a big missed opportunity on styles with him it’s sad🥲

On that note, it's safe to say that over the next couple of days, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield will be the go-to Outfits for many players in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. At this point, the only thing left for Epic Games to do is add the Nemesis T-Type as an Outfit in-game.

Although the character is rather large, with bulky Outfits becoming more common in Fortnite, this shouldn't be a problem for the developers. The community will be willing to use the Outfit for fun, even if it means facing a competitive disadvantage during gameplay.
