The Curling Iron emote is one of the many free cosmetic items released for the Winterfest 2022 event. Epic Games added the emote with the v23.10 update, released on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

Unlike other free Winterfest cosmetics, the emote has to be obtained by completing a special challenge. More specifically, players who wanted to get it needed to play with five different friends before January 3, 2023.

Originally, Epic Games was supposed to grant the Curling Iron emote to all eligible players on Friday, January 6. However, this hasn't happened yet, which is why many are wondering what's going on.

While the Curling Iron emote does not have a winter theme, it looks nice, which is why many players have tried to get it. The emote has an Uncommon rarity, and there is a chance it will be released to the Item Shop at some point.

Unfortunately, players who completed the exclusive challenge will have to wait longer to add the emote to their lockers. As per Epic Games, there is an issue with the item, which is why its granting was postponed for another week.

"Due to an unforeseen issue, we've delayed granting the Curling Iron Emote Winterfest Reward until next week. We'll provide an update when we have started the granting process," Epic Games tweeted.

It is unknown when exactly the Fortnite developer will grant the Curling Iron emote to players; however, considering that Tuesdays are update days in Chapter 4 Season 1, the emote may be released on January 10.

While Epic Games hasn't written anything regarding the emote coming to the Item Shop, it will likely happen within a few months. Most of the free items used as rewards for completing special challenges have eventually come to the Item Shop.

Considering the item's rarity, it will most likely cost only 200 V-Bucks.

Epic Games hasn't released a lot of new content for Fortnite Battle Royale over the last few weeks. This is due to the company-wide winter break in late 2023. The break ended on January 3, so we expect the v23.20 update to be released soon.

The next major update for the video game may be released on Tuesday, January 10; however, if this doesn't happen, Epic will release the it on January 17. Considering the Creative 2.0 mode is coming soon, it will most likely arrive with the next update.

Fortnite leakers claim that The Kid Laroi will have his own concert in the video game by the end of the month. Based on these leaks, the upcoming concert will be held in Creative 2.0, which is very exciting.

The v23.20 update will also bring a lot of other content, including new skins and potentially one of the leaked weapons, such as the Firefly Launcher or the Power Guitar.
