Is Hurdling disabled in Fortnite? Yes, it was disabled a few hours ago. It was introduced to Fortnite in Chapter 4 Season 1. Barely two weeks later, the mechanic has been disabled in-game. The official account tweeted out the same, but failed to provide an exact reason as to why.

Epic Games merely mentions that due to an issue, they have temporarily disabled Hurdling. Nevertheless, players will still be able to Mantle over taller obstacles. That said, there's no telling when it will be added back to the game.

Although no reason has been provided as to why Hurdling was disabled in Fortnite, the community seems to have a good idea about it. Numerous players have reported being shot up into the air while trying to Hurdle over objects in-game.

As soon as they try to Hurdle over certain low objects, they are shot straight up into the air or flung far away and get eliminated instantly. While a few managed to survive the fall using a Shockwave Hammer or the Party Time Augment, most aren't that lucky.

While this was initially thought to be an anomaly, it's far from being an isolated incident. Both professional and regular players have widely reported this issue. Many even wonder as to why Epic Games waited this long to disable it, considering it affected many during the $1,000,000 MrBeast Cash Cup.

That said, there's no telling when a fix will be implemented. Since this mechanic was recently added, the developers will take some time to understand the problem at hand. By the looks of it, players will not be able to Hurdle for at least a few days.

The developers are yet to fix the "unable to Sprint" problem in Fortnite

In addition to the Hurdling mechanic being removed, the developers are yet to fix the "unable to Sprint" issue in-game after more than a week's time. Without the ability to Sprint, other overlaying mechanics such as Mantling and Hurdling (which has now been removed) are rendered all but useless.

Players can only Slide downhill and Mantle objects that are close-by. Trying to jump a wide gap will end in failure. Thankfully, there is a workaround, but it's not the best. Those who run into this problem in-game will have to leave the match and return to the lobby to start a new one.

This is the only way to re-enable the mechanics in-game. While it's not a major issue, it does slow down the overall process of playing by forcing players to return to the lobby and queue up again.

To avoid running into this issue during a match, players should test out all movement types during the pre-game waiting period. If everything works as intended, wait until the Battle Bus launches.

If Sprint doesn't work, players will be able to exit the match without wasting a substantial amount of time or hampering their in-game K/D ratio. Hopefully, the developers will find a permanent solution soon to both of these issues before Fortnite Winterfest 2022 ends.
