Nezumi from Fortnite is one of the newest Battle Pass characters to have been introduced. Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass has a few collaborative skins, such as Doomslayer and Geralt of Rivia, and one that could be overlooked, the anime character Nezumi.

Epic Games has not clarified whether or not the collaboration is official. However, taking an educated guess and seeing how the character has a similar name, as well as an anime-style design, it is more than likely that the Nezumi was, at least, inspired by No. 6 Anime.

According to the No. 6 Wiki, Nezumi comes from the No. 6 anime series:

"Nezumi, directly translated in the English versions to Rat, is a main character in the novels, manga, and anime of No.6. After coming across Shion when they were children, Nezumi would rescue him when they were both in danger from the city of No.6."

His design doesn't paint him as male or female, leaving players wondering, is Nezumi a boy in Fortnite?

Is Nezumi a boy? Fortnite and anime character's details explored

The No. 6 Wiki lists him as a 16-year-old male. It says:

"Nezumi is a rude, sarcastic, and irritable individual, especially when he feels as if he's being questioned. Every time Shion asks Nezumi about himself, Nezumi shortly tells him to stop being nosy. When speaking with others, he often takes on a condescending or mocking tone."

Thus, in Fortnite, Nezumi is a boy.

Epic Games tends not to change the characters they use in collaborations. As such, the newest anime skin in the game remains the same as portrayed by the developers.

Nezumi is unlockable on Page 9 of the Battle Pass, which can be achieved by reaching level 54. This season, there are 14 pages to unlock rather than just 10, so it's easier to get to Page 9 than before.

Who is Nezumi in Fortnite?

Nezumi is considered theatrical in the anime due to his love of classic literature. He often reads and has books ranging from Shakespeare to Scientific Journals.

He is considered a bookworm but also has survival skills that rival anyone else in the anime. The Wiki page adds:

"At the beginning of the series, Nezumi is a very cold individual who keeps himself distanced from others. He stands firm to the belief that you should live only for yourself, that memories and relationships are like shackles that ultimately lead to your downfall."

But that doesn't remain the case, as it continues:

"As the series progresses, this resolve crumbles. He becomes protective and fond of Shion, and there are a number of times he puts Shion before himself."

At one point in the series, he attempts to tell Shion that he's in love with him, but is unable to convey his feelings. This would make him one of the few non-straight characters in Fortnite.

It's unlikely that much of this will carry over to the game, but since Battle Pass skins often play a role in the storyline of their given season, it is not out of the question.
