"Let It go:" Fortnite community left disappointed as Kratos skin is not added back to Item Shop

Fortnite has a library of cosmetics spread far and wide with original characters designed by Epic Games and others from franchises and IPs (Intellectual Properties) making an appearance. Some of these outfits can attract a lot of attention, whether it be purely due to the aesthetic value or even the outfit's exclusivity.

The Kratos skin is one such outfit, with the Ghost of Sparta from the God of War franchise becoming highly sought-after among players in the Fortnite community. With the outfit being last available for purchase over 1,000 days ago, players have been waiting to see Kratos return to the Item Shop, especially in Chapter 5 Season 2 with its Greek Mythology theme.

However, as highlighted by a recent Reddit post shared by u/FinnOfTheHorde, the community is massively disappointed by the fact that the Kratos skin has not returned, even after all the hints leading up to Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2. u/FinnOfTheHorde posted:

Players took to the comments of the Reddit post to express their opinions, with Reddit user u/JediGRONDmaster still having hope and pointing out how the skin might still return in the last week of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2.

Meanwhile, Reddit user u/InfinityStonedAF expressed how it would make more sense for the Kratos skin to return on April 20, 2024, the anniversary of the 2018 game, and not during the last week of the season.

Replying to this, Reddit user u/Kholdie chimed in and supported u/JediGRONDmaster's initial idea, owing to Kratos' reputation as a god killer. Expressing relief at the idea of the rumors and clickbait for Kratos' return to Fortnite dying down, Reddit user u/RoseFiredUP commented:

"Honestly I’m hyped for the rumors to die down. People have been milking his “return” for so long."

Will Kratos return to Fortnite anytime soon?

While many different clues and signs have hinted towards the return of the Kratos skin in Chapter 5 Season 2, that has not been the case even on the 2018 game's anniversary. However, this does not mean the skin will never return to the Item Shop, especially since Chapter 5 Season 2 is set to last another month.

As theorized by a few members of the community in the comments under the Reddit post, the skin could return during the last week of the season. However, this is just speculation and only time will tell if and when players will see the Ghost of Sparta again.
