Fortnite update v23.40 patch notes: Most Wanted feature, new Augments, free skin, and more

The latest Fortnite update has added a lot of new content to the popular video game. Epic Games released the v23.40 update on Tuesday, February 14, 2003, making it the fourth major overhaul of Chapter 4 Season 1.

Considering that we are in the last few weeks of the current Fortnite season, Epic has added a new feature to entertain players until the new season. The development team has also unvaulted many weapons and added several new cosmetics.

The best part of the update might be the free Fortnite skin that can be obtained by completing special challenges, which is available until February 28.

The February 14 Fortnite update has finally brought the Most Wanted feature that was leaked a few weeks ago. Players can now increase their heat (wanted level) and gain extra perks.

It is possible to gain out-of-combat healing and an increased movement speed by increasing the heat. However, an increased wanted level also means players will be marked for their enemies.

Players can spend 500 gold to both increase and decrease their wanted levels.

To promote the Most Wanted feature, Epic Games released a free Fortnite skin called Gold Blooded. It comes in two different styles and can be obtained by completing special Most Wanted challenges.

It is important to note that the skin will be available for a limited period of time. The event will end on Tuesday, February 28, and players will no longer be able to obtain the skin for free after that date. However, it may be released to the Item Shop later.

Besides the Gold Blooded skin, players can now unlock several other cosmetics for free, including a new umbrella. Epic Games has also added a couple of other cosmetics that will be released in the Item Shop.

Epic Games has unvaulted several popular weapons with the latest Fortnite update. Considering that the new event is all about the heat, it's not surprising that the developer has brought back some of the most powerful weapons.

Here is a list of all the unvaulted weapons:

• Submachine Gun (P90)
• Dual Pistols
• Heavy Pistol
• Heavy Sniper
• Boom Sniper Exotic
• Hop Rock Dualies Exotic

The development team has also added four new Fortnite Reality Augments to the popular video game. The Sniper Surplus augment is perfect in combination with sniper rifles as it adds an additional bullet to the magazine.

The Last Shots Augment is well-suited to players who love using pistols. It will go along well with the Hop Rock Duelies Exotic item, which was also unvaulted.
