Confirmed: Sony removes The Last Guardian's trademark.

A still from The Last Guardian.

According to a recent post on NeoGaf, the trademark of the much-awaited game The Last Guardian has been officially removed by Sony. Seems like the loss of the trademark came due to a no “Statement of Use or Extension Request” which was filed within the timeframe required. Now, this may be leading us to few things, either the title name is gonna change totally, Sony just couldn't renew it and will have to work to get it back, or it’s completely shelved.

This is the last one that fans have been fearing for a long time. The Last Guardian was first officially revealed to everyone in 2009 as a PS3 game.Developed by the Japanese game developer Team ICO, The Last Guardian was going to be a spiritual successor to Ico & Shadow of the Colossus. As these games had got great acclaim from everyone, the excitement for this game also grew with time.

Little has been shown or revealed about the title since it’s initial unveiling.Though Sony has always maintained that the game was still in development, no trailers or even screenshots have been released.Chances are that the game’s release may delay further as they may be developing a PS4 version instead of PS3.And now the loss of trademark has only added more fuel to the speculations that it is dead!

So fans, what do you say? Would you be still interested in the game if it releases someday? Give your opinions in the comments below.
