The FIFA 2018 Ultimate team updates are out, and a rather surprising new Halloween update has caught everyone’s eye. Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has received a massive boost to his FIFA 18 ratings, as he now stands with an impressive overall of 93.
Ozil has been one of the most consistent players for Arsenal over the seasons, as he has gone on to assist his teammates with immaculate passes that have set up a number of goals for the Gunners.
EA Sports has come up with a special Halloween update, that has boosted the ratings of a number of star players from across top leagues in Europe. However, EA has categorically mentioned that these are merely temporary updates, and that they will disappear, once the time slots for these updates are over. These updates are set to last till Sunday.
A number of top players, along with Ozil, have gotten a boost to their ratings. Some of the biggest recipients of these updates are Franck Ribery (92), Karim Benzema (90), Yannick Carrasco (90), Daniel Sturridge (90) and Peter Crouch (87).
While these new ratings have jacked up the ratings of a number of these players, Ozil’s one seems to be the highest for the moment. Even at a rating of 93, though, Ozil has not been able to overtake the likes of Cristiano ronaldo and Lionel Messi, both of whom currently have an overall rating of 94.
However, Ozil can take pride in his new rating, as he has been rated higher than the most expensive player in the world – Neymar Jr, who has an overall of 92, who transferred from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, for a record €222 million. Ozil is also rated higher than Neymar’s former Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez; both Neymar and Suarez are rated at 92.
