What's the story?
FIFA 18 is well and truly off and running. Since the game was released at the end of September, gamers have been quick to latch onto the footballing genius the game had to offer and are already sharing their progress worldwide.
EA Sports annual gaming franchise has released the "ICONS" feature as a part of the game this year featuring a host of legends with new and improved ratings. With the likes of Ronaldo Nazario, Michael Owen, Ronaldinho and Marco Van Basten already part of the game, FIFA 18 enthusiasts now have some more star power added to the mix.
EA Sports have revealed that Alessandro Del Piero, Rui Costa and Marc Overmars have been given their respective ICON cards and can now be used in the game by players looking for some nostalgia. Their numbers stack up something like this:
In case you didn't know...
ICONS edition was released by EA Sports along with FIFA 18 and has seen a huge response. The system of ratings is unique in that it includes three different cards for each iconic player. This features them at their best and at even slightly mediocre stages of their careers. The image above features the three players with their highest player cards in the game this year.
The heart of the matter
The cards for these players look highly impressive. At their best, all three players were untouchable and that seems to be highlighted in their attributes. The Portuguese star Rui Costa has 88 passing and dribbling stats, 86 pace and 81 shooting. The numbers are reflective of his top performances which earned him huge praise in his playing days. Del Piero isn't far behind with attributes that include 92 shooting and dribbling along with 89 passing making him one of the best icons in the game rated 92 overall. Marc Overmars touches the 90 mark too thanks to his blistering 95 pace in the game.
What's next?
The ICONS edition is on a roll and you too can join in on the fun by getting the game on PS 4, Xbox One and PC. With some more additions expected soon, FUT ICONS seems to be shaping up quite nicely.

The inclusion of Del Piero, Overmars and Rui Costa seemed imminent and adds a touch of quality to the already impressive line up of superstars included in the legends pack. EA Sports sure did well to have so many top players added to one game.
