What's the story?

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli was rather miffed when he found out that he had been given a rating of 84 instead of an 85 or 86 like he had hoped. EA Sports, the company behind FIFA 18, has revealed the first batch of player ratings for the upcoming game, expected to release on 29th September.

Alli may only be 21 but is not lacking in confidence in his abilities. EA Sports revealed the ratings of Alli, Cristiano Ronaldo, Manuel Neuer, Antoine Griezmann, Arjen Robben and many others, in the below video.

In case you didn't know...

Alli was included in the top 100 players and was part of the first 20 players whose rating was revealed. In the video, Alli had said that he wanted a rating of 85 or 86 because he felt that he had improved as a player. In FIFA 17, Alli was given a rating of 80 with a maximum rating of 82.

The heart of the matter

Alli's rating is below that of Ilkay Gundogan and Danijel Subaši? and it is safe to say that the Englishman was disappointed. All the ratings are calculated based on last year's performance.

What's next?

While Alli has every right to be upset, it will only serve as a motivator to improve his performance even more so that his rating goes even higher by the time FIFA 19 comes out.

Author's take

Alli is undoubtedly a talented player and has even won the PFA Young Player of the Year Award twice in a row. His style of play allows him to double as a 'second striker' and he is described as fast, fluid and has a great skill set. He also has a knack for getting away from other players to leave himself unmarked.
