Rumour: Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster making its way to PC?

The listing mentions a release date of 25th March

Square Enix’s critically acclaimed Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster may be making its way to the PC. A PC version of the game has now been listed on Amazon France. The listing states that Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will be compatible with the Windows 7 and Windows 8 PC platforms.

The listing also mentions Koch Media as the game’s distributor, which is also the same company that has partnered up with Square Enix in the past for the European releases of Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris and the Kingdom Hearts remix collections.

The online shopping site sets the placeholder release date for the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD as 25th March, which seems a bit too early especially since Square Enix themselves have not yet confirmed a PC release for the game yet.

Also, it is worth noting that the PlayStation 4 version of the game will not be releasing until May 12th, so an early PC release seems highly unlikely.

While the release date is unlikely, the idea of a PC version of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster does not seem too farfetched. A few Final Fantasy titles have already made their way to the PC, such has Final Fantasy XIII trilogy as well as updated versions of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII.

So, it’s quite possible that the game will be making its way to the PC sometime soon. Still it is best to wait for a confirmation from Square Enix before jumping on the hype train.

The PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD is slated to release on May 12th this year. The game will feature updated graphics and the ability to switch to old and new music.
