ICC FTP will be fulfilling its commitment towards BCCI by sending a white-ball and red ball specialist Sri Lanka squad to India to play a three -T20Is bilateral series and two Test matches series against Indian Cricket Team. The series will start off with two Tests on 25 February and 5 March and later the T20I series on 13, 15 and 18 March this year.
So far, 22 IND vs SL T20I games has been conducted. India has won 14 of them while the Sri Lankan cricket team has managed to win the remaining 7.
The two teams will be facing each other in a T20I game after a gap. They last faced each other in July 2021. The Sri Lanka Cricket Team that will be touring India will be a squad of white-ball and red ball specialists consisting of freshmen and young players and hence they have a good amount of responsibility to showcase to put a mark through their performance in this upcoming series.
The Test series will begin on 25 February 2022 with all the 2 matches being played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore and Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali respectively.
The T20 series will begin on 13 March 2022 with all the 3 matches being played at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala and Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
The second and third T2Os will be played on 15th March 2022 and 18th March 2022 respectively. The series is evenly poised as though there is a good amount of difference in their ICC team rankings in T20Is, but the Indian squad will be a fresh new squad with young players getting a chance and hence the results can go either way.
