Amy Yang has played professional golf for 18 seasons and won her first major in her 75th start in tournaments in this category. Before winning the 2024 KPMG Women's PGA Championship, she had five top-10 finishes in the event.

Yang also had two second-place finishes in major championships, both at the US Women's Open (2012, 2015). Her total number of Top 10s in majors is now 22.

"I always wanted to win a major, and I came close several times, and I started doubting myself if I ever going to win a major before I retire because I've been on Tour quite a while. I am so grateful and very, very happy to win a major," Yang said to the LPGA Tour nes service.

By winning the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, Amy Yang joins the names of several legends of women's golf, many of whom are now members of the LPGA Hall of Fame. This event has been played since 1963 and has been won by Mickie Wright, Sandra Haynie, Kathy Whitworth, Nancy Lopez, Se Ri Pak, Annika Sorenstam and Nelly Korda, among others.
