Out of 14 LIV golfers who teed off in the 2025 US Open, seven missed the cut. Some of the most notable players who will not proceed into the tournament’s third round include defending champion Bryson DeChambeau and 45-time PGA Tour winner Phil Mickelson.

In 2024, Bryson DeChambeau won the US Open for the second time after scoring 6-under 274. This year, he teed off against big-name golfers such as Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, but struggled through his first two rounds.

7 LIV golfers who missed the cut at the 2025 US Open

#1 Phil Mickelson

Six-time major champion Phil Mickelson has placed second in the US Open six times but has yet to lift the trophy. This year, the LIV Golf star scored 8-over 148 across 36 holes and missed the cut line by one stroke.


#2 Bryson DeChambeau

Defending champion Bryson DeChambeau has won nine PGA Tour events and has three individual LIV Golf titles. He carded 3-over 73 in his first round at the US Open and 7-over 77 in his second round. He shot a total of 13 bogeys and one double bogey across 36 holes and will not tee off in the tournament’s third round.


#3 Joaquin Niemann

Joaquin Niemann has won two PGA Tour and six individual LIV Golf events, but has yet to claim a major championship title. His best result in the US Open so far is 23rd, which he achieved in 2020. This year, he missed the cut in the tournament after scoring 10-over 150.


#4 Dustin Johnson

24-time PGA Tour winner Dustin Johnson has claimed three individual LIV Golf titles and has won two major championships. He won the Masters Tournament in 2020 and the US Open in 2016. This year at Oakmont, he carded a total of 10-over 150, landed at T91, and will not tee off in the third round.


#5 Cameron Smith

In 2022, Cameron Smith won the Open Championship, which remains his only major championship victory to date. He has won six events on the PGA Tour and claimed three individual LIV Golf titles since joining the league. He scored 8-over 148 in the 2025 US Open, unfortunately missing the cut line by one stroke.


#6 Richard Bland

Richard Bland turned pro in 1996 and has won one event on the European Tour. He has yet to claim a major championship title or a LIV Golf title. He carded 18-over 158 at Oakmont Country Club this year and finished his second round at T139.


#7 Jose Ballester

Jose Ballester’s professional golf career kicked off this year. He did not compete in the PGA Championship, but teed off in the Masters and missed the cut. He also missed the cut at Oakmont after scoring 12-over 152 across 36 holes.

Notably, LIV Golf player Jinichiro Kozuma is yet to complete his round as the play was suspended due to bad weather. However, he is currently at 9-over with one hole left to play and will likely miss the cut.
