Before the final round of the 2025 U.S. Open, Tyrrell Hatton is currently within the top 10 players on the major leaderboard. Despite a handful of popular pros falling prey to Oakmont Country Club, he has made consistent efforts. As Hatton steps up for the final 18 holes, he has shared a major opinion regarding the game.

The iconic golf venue in Pennsylvania has witnessed a series of failures this week. A number of past major winners have also faltered in front of the challenging setup of Oakmont CC. Tyrrell Hatton, who is yet to win a golf major, has dismissed a common belief.

In an interview with the press, the LIV Golfer claimed that past wins do not account for any advantage in the competition. According to Tyrrell Hatton, every major is different (as quoted by ASAP Sports):

"I'm sure if you've won majors in the past, you know that you can get over the line in a major, but still, at the end of the day, it's another golf tournament, and for the most part, you're playing against a lot of the guys week in, week out..."

While talking about his mindset, the golfer made it clear about having self-belief, despite any difficulty. Check out what Tyrrell Hatton said further (quoted by ASAP Sports):

"Certainly -- yeah, on your day you have to trust that you can compete and beat anyone and have that self-belief, which I think everyone in the field this week will have that."
"Yeah, you just go out there and try your best and see where you end up."

This is the 33-year-old professional golfer's 9th start in the prestigious U.S. Open. As of now, Tyrrell Hatton's resume does not hold a victory in the third golf major. The LIV Golfer, in his 8 attempts (before 2025), has made it past the cut line five times.
