Celine Boutier is representing France in the women's golf event at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She had an exceptional start to the women's golf event and took the lead on day one at Le Golf National's Albatross Golf Course.

She carded -7 for the day with eight birdies and a bogey to score 65. Boutier had a lead of three strokes, and the fans loved it as they cheered and congratulated the golfer.

However, Boutier revealed she ignored the congratulatory messages and did not pay much attention to them.

"I haven't really been paying attention to that kind of stuff," Boutier said. "Obviously, when you see people in person, it's hard to ignore. But the rest of it, I'm just trying to focus on the tournament and not really pay attention. I've done this too many times to know that a solid good round on the first day doesn't really mean much."
"Not really. You just don't look at your phone," Celine Boutier said when asked if the messages were difficult to ignore.

The French golfer was not one of the favorites as she had +2200 odds coming into the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, she started her campaign on a high and will have her sights set on winning a medal.

Celine Boutier struggles to keep the momentum going into Paris Olympics second round

Celine Boutier teed off early in the second round but failed to capitalize on the easier conditions. She had a decent start as she remained -1 on the front nine and looked all set to be in the top three spots.

Unfortunately, Boutier had a terrible back nine as she failed to make a birdie. To make things worse, she carded two double bogeys and a bogey. She finished her round at +4, and finds herself at -3 for the event. She is down in sixth place, five strokes behind the lead.

After round two, the 27-year-old Switzerland golfer Morgane Metraux leads the 2024 Paris Olympic women's golf event. She played incredible golf on day two, especially on the front nine, to card -8 in just nine holes. It looked like Metraux would take an immense lead and make it challenging for others to catch up.

Sadly, she couldn't continue her momentum and lost the advantage earned on the front nine. Metraux scored +2 on the back nine with three bogeys and a birdie to finish the day at -6, and -8 for the event. China's Rouning Yin is in second place as she carded -7 for the day to remain a stroke behind the lead going into the weekend.
