What is the bag policy at the 2025 US Open?

The 125th US Open is just a week away and golfers are gearing up to compete at the historic Oakmont Country Club, Pennsylvania. Bryson DeChambeau will be defending his title at the third golf major championship of the year. Naturally, fans are hyped up for this event.

Last year, when DeChambeau bagged his second win at this major, the tournament made waves for the huge fan attendance on field. Throughout the major, approximately 225,000 fans were present at Pinehurst. Before the 2025 US Open venue gets filled with fans, there's a strict bag policy at this major that everyone should be aware of.

The tournament has set strict guidelines for fans on field, as no backpacks, plastic bags, briefcases, purses or bags more than 6" W x 6" H x 6" D are allowed. For transparent hand bags or shoulder bags, the US Open allows dimensions upto 12" W x 12" H x 6" D. Although small clutches can be permitted, everything is subject to security checks before entering.

Other prohibited and non-permitted items include bottles, flags or signs, water coolers, firearms, noise production devices, handheld camera guides, pointed shooting cameras, and no food items. For more information, the official US Open website provides a clear idea for rules and regulations.

The golf major at Oakmont CC aims to bring forward an enjoyable and premium experience for both golfers and fans alike. Fans can enjoy the Swing Putting Experience, GHIN Putting Experience, and food and beverages. Apart from that, fans will be able to purchase US Open branded golf merchandise, apparels and accessories.

2025 US Open Full Field explored

The 156-man field features a stellar selection of talented golfers, both amateur and professional. Following Golf's Longest Day, players qualified for the US Open from qualifying events held across different golf clubs.

However, only six spots remain empty in the full field for two remaining exemptions. One is the top 60 on the OWGR after RBC Canadian Open and/or the winner in Canada if he has won previously on the Tour since 2024 US Open.
