Former Indian captain Dilip Tirkey will now act in a Oriya film ‘Toro Moro Katha Heba Chup Chap’ (You and me will talk silently) which is likely to release during Dusshera this year.
Dilip – In a new role
This is one of the firsts “off field” funny news for hockey. We have seen cricketers being part of movies but this I guess is a first time a hockey player will act in a movie. Dilip a wall on the field is not confident in front of the camera.
“Acting is totally new for me. This is altogether a different experience. However, the director of the film has given me enough confidence,” Dilip, who recently announced his retirement from international hockey, said.
Film director R N Mohanty, who had been watching Dilip since a long time said: “The hockey player had elements of acting. Those talents need to be explored.”
Dilip will play a role of elder brother and will appear 7 times in the film.
Dilip, has another Oriya film in pipeline. ‘Kotia Swapna’ (One crore dream), another film based on hockey, is also ready to witness Dilip in a lead role.
