jugraj Singh was born on 22 April 1983 at Raya in Punjab. He was considerd to be next Sohail Abbas until his career was cut short by a car incident in 2003.he was part of 2001 junior world cup winning team. He played as full back and was a penalty corner specialist. Drag-flicker Rupinder Pal Singh is his disciple..
When asked if he had any fear while plunging into the rocket-like drag flicks during penalty corner defense, Jugraj replied, “Why fear when we are playing for India. I can do anything for my country.”he was penalty corner coach of India during Olympic qualifiers 2012 in which penalty conversion rate of Indian players were very impressive. his Elder sister Rajbeer Kaur Rai is ex-India captain and Arjuna Awardee and Brother-in-Law Gurmail Singh(1980 oly), Olympian..Jugraj scored two PC goals in India’s memorable 7-4 victory over Pakistan in the 2003 Champions Trophy.He was part of silver winning team of 2002 Asian games.
Had it not been car accident in 2003, he would have been one of greatest Drag flickers of the world… He is an inspiration for all of us…HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUGRAJ..
