Ranchi, February 21, 2014: The second edition of Hero Hockey League 2014 will witness a spectacular support from the home crowd during the semi finals and finals. There is heavy rush for tickets for the matches to be played tomorrow and day after at Morabadi Astroturf Hockey Stadium, Ranchi.
Apart from the great crowd support, Hero Hockey India League will also witness the presence of eminent personalities from Politics, bollywood and sports.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Narinder Batra, Chairman, Hero Hockey India League said, “Ranchi has always been very supportive of the game and we are extremely happy with the kind of excitement that the fans of Ranchi are showing. The enthusiasm which we see here from the fans is fabulous and I am sure that the teams will leave them exhilarated with their performance.”
The winning team will take home the charismatic Swarovski trophy and 2.5 crore as prize money. The runner up team will win Rs.1.25 crore and the team placed at the 3rd position will take away Rs.75 lakhs as the prize money.
Apart from the top 3 teams winning cash prizes, the Player of the Tournament will get Rs. 25 lakhs as the prize money. The team with the maximum number of goals in the tournament will win the Airtel Maximum Goals award and Rs. 10 lakhs cash prize. The upcoming player gets the opportunity to bag the Ponty Chadha Upcoming Player of the Tournament Award and cash prize of Rs.20 lakhs. The individual who scores the maximum number of goals in the tournament will get the YES Bank Garv Award and a cash prize of Rs.10 lakhs.
