The schedule for the Asian Champions Trophy 2011 Hockey Tournament has been announced. The tournament will be played in Ordos, China from 3rd September to 11 September 2011. The tournament will feature top teams with the best men and women in Asia in action. There will be 6 teams in the Men’s tournament while there will be 4 teams in the Women’s division.
While this year’s tournament will the inaugural one for the men, it will be the second edition in the women’s division. The Indian Women’s team had won the bronze medal in the first edition of Asian Champions Trophy.
The participating teams in the Men’s tournament are India, Pakistan, China, Japan, South Korea and Malaysia while the ones for women are India, Korea, Japan and China.
Since the 2011 Asian Champions trophy features all the big giants of Asia, it is expected to be a close tournament to call. The biggest match will be on the 9th of September when India face Pakistan.
