Junior women's hockey probables pruned to 33

New Delhi - The Hockey India (HI) selection committee pruned the list of junior women’s probables to 33 players during the two?day selection trials which concluded at the Aish Bagh Hockey Stadium and Mayur Park Stadium in Bhopal.

HI selectors B.P. Govinda, Savitry Purty and Surender Kaur along with government observer Harbinder Singh, chief coach Neil Hawgood and coach Narinder Saini oversaw the fitness and performance of the players before pruning the list in preparation for the FIH Junior Women’s World Cup to be held in Germany in July 2013.

India has already qualified for the tournament by winning a silver medal at the recently concluded Junior Women’s Asia Cup.

Following is the list of probables:

Goalkeepers: Bigan Soy, Sanarik Chanu, Sukhmani Virk, Inderpreet Kaur.

Defenders: Apoorva Vishwarkarma, Sandeep Kaur, Sushila Chanu, Dibya Kerketta, Manjit Kaur, Navdeep.

Midfielders: Rukmani Dodray, Anju Dhiman, Nikki Pradhan, Manmeet Kaur, Renuka Yadav, Gurjit Kaur, Jyoti Sharma, Pooja Rani, Teena.

Forwards: Muthamma Paura, Surabhi Pradhan, Anima Minz, Pratibha Chaudhary, Jaswinder Kaur, Malkeet Kaur, Sabnam Lakra, Hardeep Kaur, Reena Khokhor, Ritusha Arya, Jyoti Gupta, Anu Bala, Neha Goyal, Navneet Kaur.
