Match Preview: Dabang Mumbai Vs U.P. Wizards

Languishing at the bottom half of the table, a lot will be at stake for Dabang Mumbai when they host U.P. Wizards on Wednesday. The Mumbai outfit has 12 points and is second from the bottom in the leader’s board, whereas the Wizards with 24 points in its kitty is calmly placed in the third place. This would be the first encounter between the teams.

Dabang Mumbai in search of momentum

After their morale boosting victory against Kalinga Lancers, the Dabangs would now be looking for a run of wins in order to book their place for the semi-finals.

Mumbai has been inconsistent with its performances and despite a promising start to the season fizzled out later on. However, the side put up a vastly improved show against Lancers in their last match.

The young lad Harmanpreet who provided the winning goal has been phenomenal for the side and is the main cog at the back. His short corner conversion rate has been impressive and can definitely cause trouble for the wizards.

U.P. Wizards in a strong position

The hockey wizards of U.P. have done exceptionally well this season and look assured of a semi-final berth. Nevertheless they would not take this match lightly as in hockey, tables can be turned anytime as with their last match against Ranchi Rays.

The Wizards lost a close match despite having maximum number of chances throughout the match. They would definitely be looking to make amends to their profligacy upfront against Mumbai.
