Rajnandgaon XI and manager Koshor Diwar banned by Hockey India

New Delhi, May 6 (IANS): Hockey India (HI) on Tuesday banned Rajnandgaon XI team and its manager Koshor Diwar for breaching the code of conduct during the 1st All India VHA – Nagpur Gold Cup Tournament.

The disciplinary committee imposed the bans for breaching the Hockey India (HI) Code of Conduct.

The incident took place in the match between Rajnandgaon XI and SEC Railways last month in Nagpur. Rajnandgaon XI’s Rahul Yadav assaulted a Railways player and manager Diwar, who is also a registered umpire, used foul language towards the umpires and technical table. On two occasions Diwar also led the Rajnandgaon XI team off the field during the match.

Yadav and Diwar have been banned for 12 months and will also be on probation for another 12 months from May 5, 2015.

Other members of the Rajnandgaon XI team were also banned for six months. The players falling under the ban are – Deepesh Chabay, Mithlesh Panday, Rukesh Nishad, Rohit Rajak, Veshnu Yadav, Naveen Tirkey, Kartik Yadav, Sunil Kullu, Rajesh Nimbalkar, Shakil Ahmed, Taqfik Ahmad, Sukhdev Nimbalkar, Khilesh Pandya, Abhinav Mishra and Khemraj Sinha.
