Results from Day 4 of the 9th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2019 (A Division)

Aurangabad (Maharashtra), 20 February 2019: The fourth day in the 9th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2019 (A Division) saw Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu, Hockey Haryana, Manipur Hockey, Delhi Hockey and Sports Authority of India register victories in their respective Pool matches here at the Sports Authority of India Campus on Wednesday.

In Pool A's first match of the day, it was Hockey Chandigarh who played out a 2-2 draw with Hockey Punjab to remain at the top of the Pool standings. The match saw Hockey Chandigarh twice come from behind to split the points. Goals for Hockey Punjab were scored by Jaspreet Singh (5') and Surdarshan Singh (54'), while Arshdeep Singh (21') and Hashim (59') scored for Hockey Chandigarh.

In the other Pool A match, it was Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu who beat Services Sports Control Board 4-1 to secure their second win of the competition. K Tiras (30', 32'), M Senthil Kumar (29') and S Karthi (33'), while Manjeet scored Services Sports Control Board's only goal of the match in the 8th minute.

In Pool B, Hockey Haryana registered their third consecutive win as they beat Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy 2-1. It was Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy who scored first as Mohd. Alishan got his name on the score-sheet in the 8th minute. However, Hockey Haryana fought back and scored twice through Rimanshu (42') and Pankaj (53') to take all the three points.

The other Pool B match saw Manipur Hockey register their second win of the competition as they beat Hockey Jharkhand by a fine margin of 5-0. The goals in the match were scored by Rabichandra Moirangthem (27', 34'), Ricky Tonjam (39', 44') and Captain Rohit Irengbam (48').

In Pool C, Uttar Pradesh Hockey and Hockey Gangpur-Odisha played out a 2-2 draw which sees them occupy the second and third places in the Pool with five points each. It was Uttar Pradesh Hockey who scored first through Uttam Singh (8'), but Hockey Gangpur-Odisha's two goals by Albret Tete (24') and Sudeep Chirmako (44') gave them the lead. A goal from Sahabaz Khan in the 59th minute saw Uttar Pradesh Hockey to draw the match.

In the other Pool C match, it was Delhi Hockey who secured their second win in three matches as they beat Hockey Maharashtra 1-0 by a goal scored in the 22nd minute by Prashant.

In Pool D's only match of the day, it was Sports Authority of India who beat Hockey Bihar 2-1 to register their second consecutive win. Goals for Sports Authority of India were scored by Manish Yadav (7') and Dilip Pal (44'), while Hockey Bihar's only goal was scored by Sajan in the 54th minute.
