Results from Day 5 of the 9th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2019 (A Division) 

Aurangabad (Maharashtra), 21 February 2019: Action in the 9th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2019 (A Division) continued here at the Sports Authority of India Campus on Thursday, into its fifth day, which saw Hockey Himachal, Hockey Jharkhand, Hockey Maharashtra, Hockey Odisha and Steel Plant Sports Board register victories in their respective Pool matches.

In Pool A, Hockey Himachal registered their first victory of the competition as they beat Services Sports Control Board 4-3 in an exciting match where they came back from 0-3 down. Goals for Hockey Himachal were scored by Vashu Dev (53', 56', 58') and Charanjeet Singh (35'), while Manip Kerketta (18'), Captain Rahul Rajbhar (20') and Manjeet (21') scored for Hockey Services Sports Control Board.

In Pool B, Hockey Jharkhand secured their second win of the competition as they beat The Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd. 4-0. Goals in the match were scored by Dodray Susaran (16', 43'), Amardeep Samrat Kujur (23') and Deepak Soreng (44').

Pool C's only match of the day saw Hockey Maharashtra register their first win of the competition as they beat Hockey Karnataka 4-2. Hockey Maharashtra scored their first goal in the 11th minute through Aamid Khan, but Hockey Karnataka equalized in the 41st minute through N M Surya. But three goals in the space of seven minutes through Aamid Khan (49', 50') and Prajwal Mohakar (56') saw Hockey Maharashtra stamp their authority on the match, as Hockey Karnataka could only get a consolation goal in the 59th minute through V Suresh.

In Pool D, Hockey Odisha registered their second win of the competition to remain on top of the standings. Hockey Odisha beat Sports Authority of India by a single goal to take the three points as Bhima Ekka scored for them in the 14th minute of the match.

In the other Pool D match, it was Steel Plant Sports Board who won their first match of the competition as they beat Punjab & Sind Bank by a margin of 4-2. All the four goals for Steel Plant Sports Board were scored by Nabin Kujur (9', 27', 35', 58'), while Harkawalbir Singh (3') and Angadbir Singh (11') scored the two goals for Punjab & Sind Bank.
