Results from Day 7 of the 9th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2019 (A Division)

Aurangabad (Maharashtra), 23 February 2019: Hockey Odisha and Sports Authority of India registered victories in their respective Pool D matches to advance to the Quarter Finals of the 9th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2019 (A Division) here at the Sports Authority of India Campus on Saturday.

The first Pool D match of the day saw Hockey Odisha register their third win in four matches as they beat Hockey Bihar 2-0 to secure the top spot in the Pool with a tally of ten points. The two goals on the day for Hockey Odisha were scored by Sushil Dhanwar (31') and Sushant Toppo (45'). The win for Hockey Odisha will see them advance to the Quarter Finals to face Hockey Gangpur-Odisha on Monday.

In the other Pool D encounter of the day, it was Sports Authority of India who also registered their third win in four matches as they defeated Steel Plant Sports Board by a margin of 4-2. Goals for Sports Authority of India were scored by Rohit (30', 50'), Manish Yadav (19') and Michael Topno (28'), while Nabin Kujur (37', 47') scored a brace for Steel Plant Sports Board. The win for Sports Authority of India sees them finish in the second spot on the Pool D standings, and means that they will be facing Uttar Pradesh Hockey in the Quarter Finals.

1st Quarter Final - 0900hrs IST - Hockey Chandigarh v Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy

2nd Quarter Final - 1100hrs IST - Hockey Odisha v Hockey Gangpur-Odisha

3rd Quarter Final - 1300hrs IST - Hockey Haryana v Hockey Punjab

4th Quarter Final - 1500hrs IST - Uttar Pradesh Hockey v Sports Authority of India
