66th Senior National Kabaddi Championship: Maharashtra announce 12-member men's squad

After an exhilarating finish to Pro Kabaddi League Season 6, it is that time of the year when big names such as Pardeep Narwal, Rishank Devadiga, Rahul Chaudhari and many others don the jersey of their respective states/employers. The 66th Senior National Kabaddi Men's Championship is set to kick off on 28th January 2019 and will continue till 31st January 2019.

Defending champions Maharashtra, who won the 65th Senior National Kabaddi Men's Championship, have announced their final 12-member men's squad out of the 30 probable names for the upcoming edition. Girish Maruti Ernak is set to lead his national side in the 66th Senior National Kabaddi Championship. Maharashtra overcame the 11-year drought of winning the nationals over Services last year (34-29) in the men's final.

The team management decided to have Girish Maruti Ernak lead the team as the captain as they wanted to have versatility in the raiding unit. Ruturaj Koravi, however, has been excluded from the side because of injury concerns. Many debutants such as Abhishek Bhojane and Amir Dhumal are expected to make a remarkable debut.

The 66th Senior National Kabaddi Men's Championship will take place in Roha, a city in Raigad district of Maharashtra, and will be conducted by the Maharashtra Kabaddi Association. It is an expectation that the knockout matches will be broadcast on the Star Sports Network and Hotstar.
