Dabangg Delhi finally won their first match of this season’s PKL as they defeated Bengaluru Bulls quite comprehensively with a score of 32-24 in Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Saturday. The match saw Delhi finally get their act together and move up to 5th in the table with 9 points. Kashiling Adake, the captain of Dabang Delhi was all smiles at the post match conference.

When asked about doing well in the match after losing their previous match, he said, “: I am happy that the players didn’t repeat the errors of the previous match. We made slight changes in our strategy today that fetched us a comprehensive victory today.”

He was also asked why his performances had declined this season, compare to the previous three seasons of PKL, to which he had to say, “We have different plans for every match. My role changes accordingly. Every season has its own challenges. We were basically focussing on the third raid in this match. The best thing is that our team is playing as a unit and fighting till the last minute of the match. Every side looks balanced in this season.”

Mohit Chillar, the captain of Bengaluru Bulls had a decent show in the court as he was the most successful defender for his team with 6 tackle points that included a super tackle. He was asked an array of questions in the post-match interview. On the result of this match: “Our team’s performance was not up to the mark today. Raider Rohit Kumar failed to perform as per our expectations.”

“The defence department of our team struggled today. We were unable to tackle Meraj Sheykh on most of the occasions. Our team committed many blunders today that changed the shape of the game. Our offence proved to be the weakest unit today. We were unable to convert the do-or-die raids in our favour,” he said.

When asked about the performance of his raiders, he said, “Our raiders were unable to get through the opposition’s defence today. Rohit Kumar looked in a great touch in the last season. I hope he will make a comeback in the coming matches.”

He was also asked about the coach’s reaction to games where the team fails to perform well, to which he said, “We have interactive sessions with our coach where we rediscover our abilities learning from the previous games. Our team has a great coordination with the coach and we are continuously working to improve our performance.”

When asked about any change in the strategy after their tie in the last game, he said, “Yes, we had a strategy for the opposition but we didn’t make counter for Meraj Sheykh. He outclassed our defence today. This proved to be a weak point for us in this game.”
