Current champions of the Men's Senior National Kabaddi Championships, Maharashtra state, have announced a list of 30 probable names for the training camp ahead of this year's championships to be held in Roha, Raigad later this month.

Maharashtra state won the 65th Men's Senior National Kabaddi Championships held at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad last year. The team, led by Rishank Devadiga, overcame the challenge from Services in the final to win their first title after a gap of 11 years.

The heart of the matter

Defending national champions Maharashtra have announced 30 probable names for the 66th Men's Senior National Kabaddi Championships for the training camp ahead of the tournament.

The 30 players will undergo a training camp organized by the Raigad District Kabaddi Association from 13th January in Alibaug. Out of the 30 players, twenty players have earlier been a part of the Nationals. Ten players have been finalized after their promising performance in the recently concluded Pro Kabaddi League Season 6.

Some of the prominent names who featured in the Pro Kabaddi League were last year's skipper Rishank Devadiga (UP Yoddha), Vishal Mane (Dabang Delhi KC), Girish Ernak (Puneri Paltan), Siddharth Desai (U Mumba), Vikas Kale (Patna Pirates), Ruturaj Koravi (Gujarat Fortunegiants) and Nilesh Salunke (Telugu Titans).

The list of 30 players selected for the Maharashtra camp is as follows:

What's next?

A final squad of 12 members will be declared at the end of the training camp for the championships which begin on 28th January in Roha. The finals of the Senior National Kabaddi Championships will be conducted on 31st January.
