Ahmedabad, 14 August 2019: Raider Vikash Kandola starred yet again as Haryana Steelers beat U.P. Yoddha 36-33 in their seventh match of the Pro Kabaddi League season seven at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad. With the win, Steelers move into the top six in the points table.

Yoddha grabbed three quick points at the start of the match but Steelers raider Vikash Kandola was exuberating confidence. Soon Steelers were in the lead and Vikash was having a hay day in the Yoddha’s side of the pitch.

With nine minutes left in the first-half Yoddha were All-Out, thanks to both the defensive and offensive units of the Steelers. Under the leadership of Dharmaraj Cheralathan the Steelers ensured no easy points were given away. Most of the raids of Yoddha were quashed and the Steelers enjoyed a 4-point lead through the first period finishing at 16-12.

Raider Prashanth Kumar Rai who returned to the side for the Steelers after an injury was supporting Vikash with successful raids. The raids from the duo were having devastating effects in the opponent’s half.

During the start of the second period, Yoddha came up with successful tackles eliminating both Vikash and Prashanth out of the equation. The Steelers were soon All-Out and the lead was now back with U.P. Yoddha.

In their last two matches when the Steelers were pushed to a corner, the team always fought their way back into the match. Wednesday was no different, soon the lead was in favour of the Steelers and Yoddha were All-Out for the second time in the match. Steelers finished the match with a three-point lead at 36-33.

The next match for the Steelers is against Telugu Titans on Sunday, 18 August 2019 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.
