Bengal Warriors signed Jeeva Kumar at a low price of 31 lakhs. Jeeva is a versatile defender who can play at both left and right cover defense and can tackle players single-handedly.

Jeeva Kumar in the Nationals plays for Karnataka team which is coached by BC Ramesh from the same state level.

Arjuna awardee and former gold-medalist at Asian Games, BC Ramesh is an innovative coach who uplifts the defensive approach of the team by enhancing the best out of the defenders.

BC Ramesh is also known for working well with the youngsters and making a strong defensive line-up. With Jeeva Kumar as the leader of the defence, both can work together in forming a competitive playing seven for Bengal Warriors.

Baldev Singh and Rinku Narwal are young and efficient defenders who will protect the corner defense for Bengal Warriors. Vijin Thangadurai or Viraj Vishnu Landge could be the choice in the cover defense along with Adarsh T, Dharmender Singh, Amit and Sumit as possible substitutions.

The defense is a young side which allows the team to have fewer injury concerns and an opportunity for the players to carry the team's responsibility. It could be a benefit for the team as Jeeva Kumar could control the defense under his belt.
