UP Yoddha (3rd) : P-22 W-13 L-7 T-2, Total points: 74
Bengaluru Bulls (6th): P-22 W-11 L-10 T-1, Total points: 64
These were the two teams that played the final league match of the season just 3 days ago and it was UP Yoddha that had the upper hand then. UP have been terrific on their way to the playoffs. They have won 10 out of their last 12 matches and have the momentum by their side.
Shrikant Jadhav has been the leader of this attack and has fetched himself 143 points so far. The support provided by other raiders like Surender Gill and Rishank Devadiga also plays a big part in their impressive season.
Cover Ashu Singh scored a high 5 in the last match and his peers Amit and Sumit are in decent form too. Captain Nitesh Kumar will be the key player for UP and he would be expected to keep up with his fabulous show. The overall team looks very good.
UP Yoddha Form Guide: W L W W W
Bengaluru Bulls will bank on Pawan Sehrawat’s brilliance. He is this season’s most successful raider with 322 points to his name. Pawan’s running hand touch has been his most rewarding move and that will surely test UP’s sturdy defence.
But the Bulls do not have good assisting raiders and that might hurt them in a close contest. Rohit Kumar has been out of action for a while so a lot will depend on the other support raiders.
Their defence has not been that sharp but they do have players like Mahender Singh and Saurabh Nandal, who could be lethal on their day. But this defence has lacked consistency and the Bulls must avoid making silly defensive errors in this crucial game.
Bengaluru Bulls Form Guide: L L W W W
UP Yoddha have 230 successful tackles this season, which is also the 2nd best figure so far.
Bengaluru Bulls have scored the most number of average points this season (31.5)
Predicted Starting 7
UP Yoddha: Shrikant Jadhav, Rishank Devadiga, Surender Gill, Nitesh Kumar (C), Amit, Ashu Singh, Sumit
Bengaluru Bulls: Pawan Sehrawat (C), Banty, Sumit Singh, Mahender Singh, Saurabh Nandal, Amit Sheoran, Ankit
UP Yoddha will go into this match with a very stable squad. Their raiders will sense the opportunity to maximise their points against a relatively weaker Bulls defence.
Pawan Sehrawat will be the key for Bengaluru. But if he stays off the court for a longer time, the Bulls may struggle to pick up points regularly.
UP Yoddha have more depth in their squad and hence could be expected to beat Bengaluru Bulls in Eliminator 1.
