The Patna Pirates, having already been knocked out of Pro Kabaddi 2019 will be keen on picking up a consolation win when they face off against U Mumba in the 117th fixture of the season at the Tau Devilal Sports Complex in Panchkula.
U Mumba’s last victory was not convincing enough as their defence unit struggled to get going initially and they could manage only 7 tackle points in the match. Fazel Atrachali and Sandeep Narwal looked off-colour as they leaked quite a few points. Surinder Singh’s support was decent but he could not earn himself any tackle point. With Patna’s Pardeep Narwal up next, U Mumba’s defence unit will need to be at its best.
Abhishek Singh has been their best raider this season. He has 119 points, which includes 7 Super 10s. But U Mumba have time and again fallen short of supporting their strike raider as Arjun Deshwal, MS Athul and Rohit Baliyan have the capability of scoring points but their inconsistency has been an issue this season.

Patna Pirates have themselves to blame for a poor show this season. They have been over reliant on Pardeep Narwal and the dearth of good support raiders has eventually hurt them.
Pardeep has been the lone warrior throughout this season. Out of the 368 raid points scored by Patna, 243 belong to Pardeep alone, a total of 66% of the team’s total raid points. Jang Kun Lee’s pace has dropped down considerably while Mohammad Esmaeil has also lost his place in the side. With nothing to lose, Patna could be tempted to test their bench strength.
On the defence front, Neeraj Kumar and Hadi Oshtorak have been decent this season but Jaideep’s failure at the left corner has made a major impact on this defence unit. All-rounder Monu and Vikas Jaglan will need to step up and deliver in this game.
