UP Yoddha and Gujarat Fortune Giants will battle it out for a place in the upper half of the points table when they face each other in the 82nd match of this season’s Pro Kabaddi League.
UP Yoddha picked up a hat-trick of wins after their victory over Patna in the last game. After a sluggish start, this team has made steady progress in the last few games.
One major reason for their rise has been the contribution from their defenders. Captain Nitesh Kumar has led from the front with 35 tackle points so far and has made good use of his experience. Right cover Ashu Singh and left cover Amit have been the unsung heroes of this defence. Their ability to pick up points at regular intervals has made a major impact so far. Left corner Sumit has also been impressive with his ankle holds and hence UP’s overall defence looks in fine touch.
The raiding department has been a one-man show in the last few games. Shrikant Jadhav has managed the majority of the attack and has scored 34 points in the last 3 matches.
