Pro Kabaddi League 2017 Season 5: Selvamani K and Jasvir Singh set to return for Jaipur Pink Panthers against Titans

S
Selvamani (pink) has been injured since his side's season opener

July 29 was the last time Selvamani K played in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 5. Since then, the Jaipur Pink Panthers star raider has been sidelined with a serious groin injury. However, a source close to the team management has confirmed to Sportskeeda that the lanky raider will return to the squad for Jaipur's crunch match against Telugu Titans tonight i.e. Wednesday.

His returns marks the end of a torturous two months during which Selvamani had to be content with watching his team from the sidelines. Speculation was rife that he would return days after his injury but it wasn't the case. Jaipur, though, would be ecstatic with his recovery as they continue their pursuit of a playoff spot.

Wednesday happens to be a day of double delight for Jaipur as veteran Jasvir Singh too is set to return to the squad after he missed two games, one of which they lost against the Haryana Steelers.

It will be interesting to see how Jaipur coach Balwan Singh uses two of his star raiders. With Selvamani returning after a long layoff, hey may not play for the entire duration of the game. What is sure though is that he will partake in tonight clash.

The coach will be keen to ensure Selvamani does not push himself too much in what will be only his second match of the campaign.

Jasvir, on the other hand, will be fresh and raring to go. He will in all probability be part of the starting seven. The Panthers have won two of their last five matches and are currently fifth in Zone A, ten points behind the Puneri Paltan.

Both sides have played twelve matches respectively but Pune have been in dominant form and currently have 47 points.

Wednesday's encounter could burst into life considering Manjeet Chhillar's comments on Rahul Chaudhari. Not so long ago, Jaipur's captain boasted about his dominance over Telugu's star man and had suggested that Rahul has found it tough to beat him.

Chaudhari will be keen to reply with a win. Like Jaipur, the Titans too sit in fifth on the points table in Zone B. Their chances of qualification are still alive but they desperately need a win in order to stay afloat.
