Tamil Thalaivas have not had a great Pro Kabaddi League campaign since the time the team was introduced into the tournament. Ajay Thakur has been the mainstay in this squad which also had the services of Manjeet Chhillar last season.
Despite a disappointing Season 6, the franchise has gone ahead with retaining these two players ahead of the auctions.
Tamil Thalaivas had a one-dimensional auction strategy in which they focussed more on experience. In the process, they secured the services of the league's poster-boy Rahul Chaudhari, Mohit Chhillar, and the experienced Ran Singh. Veteran raider Shabeer Bapu will also raid for the Thalaivas this season with Kenyan all-rounder Victor Onyango also a part of the squad.
Tamil Thalaivas will have a squad whose starting 7 could comprise of India nationals and hence, they could be a potent force next season. Although there are chances that the experience factor could backfire in Kabaddi. If it does succeed, then the Thaliavas can go all the way.
