The Star Sports Pro Kabaddi 2015 journey has reached the ‘City of Joy’ – Kolkata, today. The first match is between the home team Bengal Warriors and Jaipur Pink Panthers. Last year the Warriors lost both the matches they played against the Panthers.

The Bengal Warriors coach Raj Narayan Sharma, who himself hails from Jaipur spoke to SportsKeeda today, in the morning of their first home match today against Jaipur Pink Panthers. He spoke to us about their strategy and team.

“Now Bengal Warriors is my home team, now onwards I will play and coach the players for Bengal only. I will do my best to lead Bengal Warriors to the victory,” he said.

He spoke about their performance in the first match and assured that this will not repeat in future. He stated that Nitin Madane’s injury is the biggest loss to Bengal Warriors.

“We worked on the mistakes we did in our first match against Bengaluru Bulls. We will not repeat that mistake in future. We will try to play much better this time,” he assured, “Our star raider Nitin Madane is injured and this is the biggest loss for us. We are bringing Mahesh Goud in the team today.”

Mahesh was the second best raider last year for Bengal Warriors. He took 58 points in 13 matches he played last year.

“We prepared a strategy against Jaipur Pink Panther as per their performance against U Mumba in the inaugural match. We studied their weaknesses and did a very deep analysis. We also have different plan to top raider Jasvir Singh as well as not to give points to Kuldeep, who did well that day,” the coach said.

He concluded with the comments over the week performance of their foreign raider Jang Kun Lee and assured that we worked on his movements during the 3-day break.

“Jang Kun Lee performed very good last season. We are hopeful; he is a good left raider. He did not attend the camps this year, so we worked on his movements and gave him chance to practice during last 3 days. He will play well today.”
