The second day of the Kabaddi event will witness the reigning gold-medalists, Indian men's Kabaddi team play their first fixture of the 2019 South Asian Games against Sri Lanka. The matches will take place in the APF Hallchowk, Kathmandu.
India will kick-start their tournament with a revamped squad led by newly-appointed skipper, Deepak Niwas Hooda. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, will be high on confidence after their upset victory over Pakistan. They will rely upon their rock-solid defence yet again to work well against the likes of Pawan Sehrawat, Pardeep Narwal, and Naveen Kumar.
Nasir Ali-led Pakistan will look to get back into winning ways against the in-form Bangladesh in the second match of the morning session. Pakistan will hope that their offence works well, as the silver-medalists of 2016 look to remain in contention in the competition. Masud Karim and Md. Zakir Hossain will look to continue their winning momentum, after thrashing the hosts Nepal in Day 1.
In the women's category, India will square off against Bangladesh in the evening session. India thrashed Sri Lanka in the inaugural day with a one-sided victory, as Priyanka-led team with young raiders in the line-up look to remain unbeaten in the tournament. Bangladesh women's side will look to avoid a defeat against India, as a loss could lead them to an early exit from the competition.
The hosts Nepal women's team will lock horns against Sri Lanka in the final encounter of Day 2. Nepal's all-round performance against Bangladesh helped them to start their proceedings well. Led by Maya Basnet, Nepal's chances of winning will depend upon performances from Menuka Rajbansi and Manmahat Bista. Sri Lanka will be keen to open their account against the hosts.
