Rovman Powell (Barbados Royals captain): It's a case of us getting lucky. We thought we were out of the competition. Once the light came back on, it was our game to lose. It was a case of the experienced guys taking on the powerplay. Credit has to be given to David who struck from ball one. It's a difficult one, unfortunate that lights went on. Those things happen. Unfortunate for TKR, nevertheless I will take that. If it's a bright light, it's our blowing department. We were wondering when our luck was going to change. Good that we got little bit tonight. Kieron Pollard (Trinbago Knight Riders captain): (What the officials were saying when the floodlights failed) At that time, they were just speaking about the rules and the playing conditions in case the lights came back. When you look at the conditions, it was going to be dark and dangerous for the players. At the end of the day, the groundstaff did what had to be done to get a game of cricket. If rain had fell or anything, it would have been the same situation. These things tend to happen. Still proud of the guys. Since the start of the season, we had a lot of injuries. The professionalism of the guys and we saw the class of Nicky P (Nicholas Pooran) tonight. We can only control what is in our control. (On Pooran) Obviously proud. From where he has come from, the situations he had to overcome. He is an example for the youth coming up in West Indies cricket. He showed he is a cut above the rest.

What a way to advance forward as David Miller scores a 17-ball 50 to help Barbados Royals register a nine-wicket victory and make it to the Qualifier 2. TKR had a cruel twist in their luck as a floodlight failure meant their batting innings came to a close with five balls still left. The delay was long enough that only a five-over second innings could be played and Barbados Royals were provided with a target of 60. The magician Sunil Narine dismissed Quinton de Kock in the very first over and gave some hope to TKR fans. However, the South African Miller single-handedly won the game for Barbados. With 25 required off the last two overs, Miller smashed 17 runs off Chris Jordan's bowling to make the equation even easier. Eventually, he struck two more sixes to get the victory and his individual fifty as well
