This is all we have from the commentary box for today. Till the next time, it's adios from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) and my fellow commentator and good mate Mohul Bhowmick.
Melbourne Stars win by 7 runs

Melbourne Stars 186/7 in 20 overs
Marcus Stoinis 74(35) | Wes Agar 3/27

Adelaide Strikers 178/5 in 20 overs
Adam Hose 56*(41) | Liam Hatcher 2/27

The target of 188 was never going to be an easy one for the Adelaide Strikers. They needed a brisk start to harbor hopes of chasing this down. Matt Short was dismissed in the very first over of Trent Boult but Henry Hunt and Chris Lynn got them back into the game with some fine strokes.

The duo shared a 43-run stand before Lynn’s dismissal. Hunt fell just a solitary run short of his fifty but managed to lay the platform for a fascinating finish. Adam Hose looked in ominous touch and went onto register a well-compiled half-century.

Just when the match seemed to be going out of grasp for the Strikers, it was Rashid Khan who turned it on with a few lusty blows. Luke Wood bowled an impressive final over and despite giving his all, Rashid was not able to get his side over the line.

Earlier, it was the Melbourne Stars who won the toss and put up 186 in their allotted 20 overs. Riding on a scintillating 74 off a mere 35 deliveries from Marcus Stoinis, the Stars managed to get to a more than competitive score of 186. Wes Agar was the pick of the bowlers for the Strikers, finishing with 3/27.

19.6 Luke Wood to Adam Hose, A SWING AND A MISS! At a length outside off, Hose tries to swing it away to the on side but misses even as his head falls away, denying him solid base. The Melbourne Stars win by eight runs!
19.5 Luke Wood to Rashid Khan, WOOD HOLDS HIS NERVE! Slower yorker outside off, Khan tries to hoick it away to the on side but cannot connect! Single taken as the ball drizzles towards midwicket.
19.4 Luke Wood to Rashid Khan, at a length outside off, Khan swings away at it and manages to get it on the bounce to deep cover for a couple! Ten runs are needed from two balls now!
19.3 Luke Wood to Rashid Khan, FOUR! THIS IS GOING RIGHT DOWN TO THE WIRE! Wide at a length outside off, Khan sees the width and flat bats this one imperiously through the covers region for a boundary! Can Khan take the Strikers home? 12 needed.
19.2 Luke Wood to Rashid Khan, wide yorker outside off, Khan gets some bat on it and pats it back to the bowler. Was he trying to overhit the ball there?
19.1 Luke Wood to Adam Hose, OOH! MISSED OUT! Low fulltoss outside off, Hose drills it wide of cover for a run. Over to Rashid Khan now!
Luke Wood [3-0-33-0] comes back into the attack.
That's a massive final two deliveries in the context of the game, Rashid manages to get a six and a four of the last two deliveries which has made things very interesting in the final over. 17 runs needed.

18.6 Marcus Stoinis to Rashid Khan, FOUR! THE STRIKERS ARE GETTING CLOSE! Fullish just outside off, Khan merely opens the face of the bat and nonchalantly runs the ball down just between the keeper and short third man for a boundary! This was as classy as they come from Khan. He is known for his power game, but this was all touch.
18.5 Marcus Stoinis to Rashid Khan, SIX! SHOT! WHAT CLASS AND SWAGGER! Full on middle and leg, Khan waits for the ball to come in the crease and plays a helicopter shot right out of the blocks to the second tier of the stadium over deep midwicket for a HUGE HIT!
18.4 Marcus Stoinis to Rashid Khan, bouncer on off, rises as usual even as Khan tries to pull it away and is BEATEN!
18.3 Marcus Stoinis to Adam Hose, MISSED OUT! A leg bye is taken. Fullish on leg, Hose misses out on picking up a boundary here.
18.2 Marcus Stoinis to Adam Hose, FOUR! CAN HOSE TAKE THE STRIKERS HOME? Fullish on middle and leg, Hose steps down the track, tries to flick it away but gets a faint inside edge that goes past short fine leg for a boundary! Can he do it?
18.1 Marcus Stoinis to Rashid Khan, full and wide outside off, Khan drills it to long off for a run.
An impressive over from Trent Boult. He stuck to his plans and executed the yorkers to perfection. This is what Boult brings to the table. Not only he gets wickets in the powerplay, he can also turn out to be a crucial death overs bowler. Conceding just 7 runs from the over.
