Jos Buttler, England captain and Player of the Series: You've got to accept the conditions for what they are. Disappointed for not getting a full game but we are glad to get some momentum under our belt ahead of the T20 World Cup. Woakes' first over was brilliant. We knew we had to go hard at them and that is what we did. Good fun, we enjoyed this series.

Aaron Finch, Australia captain: The conditions couldn't get any worse. There was quite a bit of rain last night as well, would have been nice to play a full game, but not to be. The fielding was good, I thought the bowling was really good as well. When you've got two in batters towards the back end it's really tough to stop them, so, credit to England, they have outplayed us in all three games. The feeling is good among the group before the world cup, it's important that we take some time to freshen up as a group, it's been a big few months for us, we've been on the road, a lot of travel, so for us it's just about trying to get away from the game for a couple of days, enjoy each other's company and recharge for the World Cup.

The inevitable has happened. The match has been abandoned. England will take the series 2-0. With the kind of weather we've had at Canberra over yesterday and the game today, a full game was always going to be a tough proposition, and in the end, we weren't able to get in the minimum number of overs to induce a result.

Australia were in dire straits when chasing this total, and full credit must be given to the English bowlers for keeping at it. Jos Buttler, as has been the case throughout the series, starred with the bat. Australia came hard at them but could not prevent the runs from leaking.

The visiting side will take a lot of positives from this, and feel that they have taken big strides under the captaincy of Jos Buttler. Most importantly, it has freed Ben Stokes to do his own thing. The Australians will be a little concerned by this, but they can shake this bad form off when they begin their title defence!

UPDATE: We are told that, under the most trying of circumstances, we need a restart by 5:09 PM IST to be able to bowl the 7 balls needed for a game. The target for Australia under that scenario would be 52 if they are three down. So, in essence, the home team will need to score 22 runs in 7 balls to win the game if we do have a restart by 5:09 PM IST, which is not too bad a proposition for them!

The fact remains that we need five overs to be bowled for this game to be considered complete. Australia are nowhere near where they would want to be in DLS at this stage of the game, and if the game does not restart, this will be considered a no-result! So Australia would want the game to begin soon if they wish to avoid a 0-2 defeat in this series. They will then have to go hammers and tongs at it to chase the total down, which, going by Stoinis' approach, seems likely. And do remember that they have big Tim David still in the hut awaiting his chance to come out to the crease!

Unfortunately, the rain is back, and the players have to go off. The covers are back on. It does appear to be a slight drizzle, but one can never tell. Stay tuned, folks, as we bring to you all the latest updates as and when we get them.

Stoinis is known to be a big hitter of the cricket ball in this format of the game. It is up to him now to take Australia home!

3.5 David Willey to Marcus Stoinis, SIX, what a hit! Stoinis moves away and finds a lot of room, he absolutely muscles this length delivery over cover, the timing and the power is too good for the ball as it flies over the ropes at deep cover!

And with that, the players will leave the field AGAIN. The rain has made its umpteenth appearance for the day.

And Woakes gets his nemesis again! Maxwell, known to flounder against the former, has succumbed to him on yet another occasion. Maxwell has gone 7 innings in a row now without getting to ten! Troubling thoughts for the Australian think tank and management before the T20 World Cup.

2.5 Chris Woakes to Glenn Maxwell, OUT, caught! Woakes accounts for Maxwell yet again! This one didn't have much pace, but it swung away from Maxwell, who tried to go through with the shot and clear the in-field down the ground, is unable to do so, and Stokes back pedals from mid-off and takes an easy catch!

2.4 Chris Woakes to Glenn Maxwell, ohhhh, that is a mean bouncer! Pitched just around off, Maxwell sways away from the line of the ball!
