AUS won by 20 runs (D/L method)
Player of the match: Adam Zampa

That will be all for today's coverage. Australia start off the series on a high note as their formidable bowling unit completely blew away the visitors today. There are four more matches in the series and there is enough time for Sri Lanka to come back in this series. This is Raghav alongside Shashwat signing off. Stay tuned on Sportskeeda for more live-action!
Adam Zampa has been awarded the player of the match award for his figures of 3/18 in four overs.
Sri Lanka 122/8 in 20 overs ( Pathum Nissanka 36 off 37 balls, Dinesh Chandimal 25* off 16 balls, Josh Hazlewood 4/12 in four overs, Adam Zampa 3/18 in four overs.)

What a win! What a win for Australia! They have come out on top after being put to bat first and defended a sub-par total with ease. Defending 150 was never going to be an easy task on a pretty decent batting wicket but when you have world-class bowlers like Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa, any target is defendable.

Australia started off well. Hazlewood and Cummins took early wickets and made the opposition pick the conservative approach. Nissanka and Asalanka had a little partnership and they finally managed to get going taking on Mitchell Starc. However, Adam Zampa blew Sri Lanka away dismissing the set batters in the same over then Hasaranga later.

Chandimal gave the fans something to cheer for in the end but it was not quite enough as Hazlewood ran through the lower order and the world champions registered yet another comprehensive victory.

18.6 Mitchell Starc to Dinesh Chandimal, yorker on middle and leg stump. Chandimal comes forward and tucks the ball off his toes towards the sweeper at deep mid wicket for one. Australia win by 20 runs (DLS)
18.5 Mitchell Starc to Dinesh Chandimal, FOUR! IS THAT A NO BALL TOO? Waist height full toss on middle and leg stump. Chandimal is taken aback and as a protective measure, swipes at it. He gets a top edge that flies past short third man for four. Not called a No Ball!
18.4 Mitchell Starc to Dinesh Chandimal, full toss on middle and leg stump. Chandimal gives himself a bit of room and pushes the ball into the off side towards the man at extra cover
18.3 Mitchell Starc to Dinesh Chandimal, SIX! SHOT! In the slot outside off stump and Chandimal makes the most of it! He goes deep into his crease and crunches it over extra cover for a maximum!
18.2 Mitchell Starc to Binura Fernando, NEARLY! Excellent yorker on middle and off stump. Fernando digs it out to extra cover and then sets off for the single. He is sent back but Inglis misses the stumps. Fernando eventually gets an overthrow for his troubles
18.1 Mitchell Starc to Dinesh Chandimal, full delivery outside off stump. Chandimal gives it everything he has but only manages to shank it towards long on for a single
Mitchell Starc [3.0-0-28-0] is back into the attack
End of another fantastic spell from Australia's Mr Consistent as he ends with the figures of 4/12 in his four overs. Onto the final over now where Sri Lanka need 34 runs to win.

17.6 Josh Hazlewood to Dinesh Chandimal, back of a length delivery on leg stump that skids through. Chandimal plays all over it as the ball pings off the thigh pad for a leg bye
Final delivery for Hazlewood. Can he get his fifth?

17.4 Josh Hazlewood to Dinesh Chandimal, SAFE! Back of a length delivery outside off stump. Chandimal looks for the pull but toe ends it horribly. In fact, that helps him as the ball lands well in front of deep mid wicket

17.2 Josh Hazlewood to Dinesh Chandimal, slower delivery on a length outside off stump. Chandimal throws the kitchen sink at it and slices it over short third man for a brace
