Commentary

So then, both sides will share two points each after a highly entertaining draw. England still trail Australia by two points and this will finally go down to the ODI series to decide who will come out on top? Will England claim the Ashes or will the hosts retain it? The tone has been very well set and we will be back to bring you all the action. For now, this is Abhinav and myself (Rishab) taking your leave. Well, this final session has given us the most entertainment that you could ever get from a Test match. At the start of the session, it seemed tough for either side to go on and win this game, but through the course, boy have we seen the momentum shift a number of times, England were on top with that opening partnership setting the tone with Beaumont and Winfield Hill taking the charge. Heather Knight and Nat Sciver then carried it forward with Sophie Dunkley showing great intent as well.

Coming down to the final ten overs, it indeed looked like England were comfortably on course for a record run-chase. However, Annabel Sutherland and Alana King gave it their all with the ball as Australia staged a dramatic comeback, coming so close to winning the game from a point where it seemed like it was as good as over for them.

The English side have managed to keep the Ashes alive with this draw. They might have not won the game, which they will feel they should have. Nonetheless, for them to come out and go after a 257-run target the way they did is truly commendable and they deserve a lot of credit for showing that intent and keeping the contest interesting all the way through. Australia pulled it back from nowhere and while they will be disappointed of not having gotten that final wicket to retain the Ashes, they will also have plenty of positives to take away from this final day's play.

What a game of cricket this has been. Two top sides, fighting it out tooth and nail and it has ended in one of the most dramatic, thrilling and nerve-wrecking draws that you will see. To sum it up, Test cricket at its very best!

Heather Knight: Had some success here and I've really enjoyed this Test match. We fought over four days and went toe to toe. The fact that we went for it was really amazing. I feel alright and three days before the ODIs for me to recover. Really pleased with the fact that we got close and we were suddenly favorites.

Meg Lanning: Don't know what happened in that last hour. England batted really well to get back and get close to winning the game. That's the great things about our side, not relying on a few guys with the youngsters coming in and performing right-away. I need a rest after this to get over. It's a great series with two great sides going at it.

Well, England have managed to draw the game and both teams have given it their heart and soul in this contest. England did give Australia a real scare, they are going to be disappointed but they keep themselves alive in the series. Australia, may not have gotten that final wicket but it has been a commendable comeback from them to almost pull it off out of nowhere. What an incredible and memorable Test this has been!
