Thank you for joining us- Mohul Bhowmick and Srivathsa Vennelaganti- for this exciting game in the BBL today. Until next time, ciao!
Brisbane Heat beat Adelaide Strikers by 6 runs!

Sam Billings 79 (48) | Mark Steketee 4/34
Thomas Kelly 43 (33) | Matthew Short 3/14

The Heat broke their unbroken losing record of eight consecutive matches with this positive result and they will be extremely happy with themselves. The Strikers gave them tough competition and tried to take the game till the last over, but the fall of wickets at regular intervals prevented that from happening.

Michael Neser and Mark Steketee did extremely well with the ball, picking up two and four wickets respectively. They bowled in decent areas and ensured that the batters of the Strikers did not get too much of room to free their arms. This worked out well for them today.

However, it was Sam Billings' top knock earlier in the day that set up the win for the Heat. For the Strikers, Thomas Kelly and Colin de Grandhomme tried their best to take them close to the total that they were chasing, and were aided in part by wicketkeeper batter Harry Nielsen. but in the end, the result got away from them.

Both these sides will take a lot of confidence from this result, and we can expect them to continue into the competition with a positive frame of mind.

19.6 James Bazley to Peter Siddle, SIX! The Heat win by six runs! Short and into the surface on middle and leg, Siddle tries to swivel in the crease and pull this away over the deep midwicket fence but does not time it too well and gets a TOP EDGE that goes over the head of the keeper for a MAXIMUM! However, it serves little purpose as the Heat have won the match. This is their first win after eight consecutive losses.
19.5 James Bazley to Peter Siddle, short and wide outside off, Siddle tries to cut it but is BEATEN! The Heat have as good as won this game!
19.4 James Bazley to Peter Siddle, full on middle and leg, Siddle works it to cover for a couple! That was seriously good running! 13 from 2 now!
19.3 James Bazley to Harry Nielsen, OUT! NIELSEN DEPARTS! At a length on middle, Nielsen waits for it, keeps his head steady and tries to slog this one way over the long on fence but does not time the ball too well and only ends up finding the hands of the fielder who is stationed there, Michael Neser, who has to run in and slide to take that catch! But he does well!

19.2 James Bazley to Harry Nielsen, fulltoss outside off, Nielsen tries to RAMP this one too but MISSES!
19.1 James Bazley to Harry Nielsen, fulltoss on the stumps, Nielsen RAMPS it over the keeper for a couple!
What an over from Neser who has been superb today. Just the 4 off it and a wicket. Leaves 17 to get off the final one.

18.6 Michael Neser to Wes Agar, OUT! At a length on the stumps, Agar tries to slog this one away over the off side but does not get all of it. The ball goes MILES up in the air that the wicketkeeper of the Heat, Jimmy Peirson can take comfortably by stationing himself underneath! Agar has to depart, and the game is back to being see-sawing!

18.5 Michael Neser to Wes Agar, short and into the surface, Agar tries to swing away at it but is BEATEN!
18.4 Michael Neser to Harry Nielsen, JUST SHORT! At a length outside off, Nielsen tries to HOICKit away but gets a TOP EDGE that lands just short of the fielder at cover for a run.
18.3 Michael Neser to Wes Agar, at a length outside off, Agar punches it to cover for a run.
18.2 Michael Neser to Harry Nielsen, short of a length on middle, Nielsen steps down the track and SMACKS it past the bowler to long on for a run!
