Right then, it has been a night filled with fireworks, a historic night for England and a night to forget for South Africa. The hosts not have much time to celebrate though as they travel to Nottingham (Trent Bridge) for the series decider to be played after a day's gap. We will be there to bring you all the action as always. For now, this is Sourabh Agrawal taking your leave on behalf of Karthik Raj and the entire team. Cheers!
Harry Brook (England Captain): "Pretty much lost for words. Myself and Jos (Buttler) were talking about how we didn't think it was possible to get 300. But with the batting line-up we have, any high is possible. Every game is important leading up to the T20 World Cup. Every must-win game will be great preparation for us. (About picking the squad and XI with England's depth) Gonna be some tough decisions to make, some phenomenal players there but good to have debate around that."
Aiden Markram (South Africa Captain): "Tough one. Probably started getting it wrong from the toss, that one was on me. Two masterclasses at the top, it is tough to come back from those. Sometimes those last 6-8 overs but tonight it lasted 20. We will need to come up with better plans. We expect good wickets in T20s and there are world-class players all over the world. Don't think we will be training (tomorrow), will be nice to have a casual conversation and see where we can get better as a team."
Phil Salt (Player of the Match): "That was really good. Obviously, it's a personal milestone but to get 300 and register such a big win, can't ask for more. Sometimes, it is a case of reacting. Other times, it is a jump start. Everyone who came in knew that it was a very good wicket. Knew that the Powerplay was very important. I might give him a text but won't rub it in as he has a big game tomorrow."
Time for the post-match Presentation!
9:37 PM Local TIme, 2:07 AM IST: MATCH SUMMARY
England (304/2 in 20 overs) beat South Africa (158 all-out in 16.1 overs) by 146 runs
Phil Salt 141*(60) | Jofra Archer 3/25(3) Aiden Markram 41(20) | Bjorn Fortuin 2/52(4)
An absolute anhelation if ever there was one. Records tumbled as England ripped apart the South African side on their way to level the series 1-1.
On the back of Phil Sal's 4th T20 hundred and the highest individual T20I score by an England batter, the hosts posted the third-highest total ever in men's T20Is. Buttler starred with a 30-ball 83 as well with fireworks all around Old Trafford. The South African bowlers were battered and bruised, beaten black and blue.
The chase of 305 was always going to be a huge mountain to climb but South Africa were never really in this. They just about got past the halfway mark and were bowled out inside 17 overs, giving England their biggest win in T20s and themselves suffering their biggest loss in T20s.
South Africa kept losing wickets throughout their innings and their biggest contribution was a 20-ball 41 from their skipper Aiden Markram which is never going to be even remotely close to enough in such a run chase. The next best was from the number 8 Bjorn Fortuin, he scored his highest-ever score in international cricket with 32 off 16, that tells you the tale of this run chase that was never really there.
For England, pretty much everyone shared the spoils barring Luke Wood. Archer was brilliant after being met by Rickelton early on but then ended up with 3 wickets as well as a couple of catches. Curran, Dawson and Jacks got 2 each while Adil Rashid got one as well.
16.1 Liam Dawson to Kagiso Rabada, DAWSON AND ARCHER COMBINE TO SEAL THE DEAL! Length delivery angling wide of off from around the wicket, Rabada walks down the track and looks to slap it over long-off but he only gets a thick outside-edge to short third where Archer moves to his left and takes an easy catch. This completes a 146-run victory for England which is their biggest-ever in T20Is!
Not a hat-trick but an over to remember for Jacks. South Africa on the brink as Liam Dawson [3.0-0-34-1] returns.

15.6 Will Jacks to Lizaad Williams, full outside-off, Lizaad drives it to mid-off where Tom Banton dives to his right and stops the ball. No run.
15.5 Will Jacks to Lizaad Williams, yorker sliding in towards the toes, Lizaad digs it back to the bowler. No run.
Hat-trick ball
Lizaad Williams batting at 11th position
A stern look on Jacks' face, showing that he too is around. Guess what, he could have a hat-trick here out of nowhere.
Kwena Maphaka has been dismissed for 0 runs off 1 balls
15.4 Will Jacks to Kwena Maphaka, JACKS HAS TWO IN TWO! Full and quick outside-leg, Maphaka looks to play the switch-hit but he miscues it completely to cover where Jacob Bethell takes the catch. South Africa are nine down now!
Kwena Maphaka batting at 10th position
Last wicket to fall was of Bjorn Fortuin
15.3 Will Jacks to Bjorn Fortuin, WICKET! Full and wide of off, Fortuin goes for the slog-sweep but he only manages a top-edge this time. Jos Buttler moves a touch to his left and takes an easy catch. End of Fortuin's fun in the middle!
15.2 Will Jacks to Kagiso Rabada, length delivery outside-off from around the wicket, Rabada pulls it down to long-on where the fielder races to his right and slides to save the boundary. Single taken.
