Bjorn Fortuin: A Brief Biography
Bjorn Fortuin is a first-class cricketer from South Africa. He was born on 21 October 1994 at Paarl, South Africa. He plays mainly as a bowler. He is a slow left-arm orthodox bowler and right-handed batsman.
Domestic career
He made his first-class for North West cricket team in 2013 against Wester Province. He made his T20 debut for the same team in the 2015 Africa T20 Cup. Two years later he was named in Durban Qalandars’ squad for the first season of the T20 Global League. However, the tournament was eventually cancelled by Cricket South Africa.
In 2018, he was named in the squad of Paarl Rocks’ or the inaugural edition of the Mzansi Super League T20 tournament. He was the highest wicket-taker in the 2018-19 CSA T20 Challenge, with fifteen wickets to his name in ten matches. For his performance, he was named the CSA T20 Challenge Player of the Season in August 2019. A few days later, he was selected for South Africa’s Twenty20 International squad for their series against India.
