That's all we have from this game as I, Lavil alongside, Pradeep take your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda for the latest in the world of sports. SEE YA!
Harry Brook [captain, England]: He is probably getting better with age, happy to have him on the side. Didn't go our way at the start, and we didn't take our chances early on. Carsey especially did a great job in the power play. I said to the boys, you can play scoops and over the legside. To have a proper batter at 7 is key. The boys are doing well together, the lads are willing to fight for each other in the middle, and that shows. Nice to get a series win in the first one.
Shai Hope [West Indies captain]: "Certainly, we started a lot better with the bat today. Nice to see Keacy continuing his form. Keacy has settled into the role nicely, he's a quality player and showed us why he is. Certainly did, with the position we were in, around that 35 over mark, should've added 35 or 40 runs more. We gave ourselves best chance with the bat. But, the bowlers fought till the last minute and I'm proud of them. We also felt that, wickets was key. It's pretty difficult to restrict England in these high scoring venues. That was the decision we made, it turned out to be good for us today."
Joe Root is the Player of the Match for his 166! Here's what he has to say: "Two for two, nice to be there at the end and help team cross the line. Tricky wicket in periods, made it a great game of cricket though. It was an interesting wicket, it's about managing situations in different phases of the game. Alzarri bowled an exceptional spell, Jacks played well and was brilliant. Helped us get to a position to go on to win it. Jacks should be extremely proud about how he played today. I'd like to think so, there's enough there to keep wanting to get better. That's always the thing for me, get up and see if I can do it and see if I can help get through to the line. As long as I can keep scoring, keep contributing, hopefully you'll see me in 2027 World Cup. Brook's come in and stamped his authority, it's easy to say when things go your way. He wants to lead this team in a certain way, credit to him for doing that. In time everyone will see what a fantastic player he is."
7:06 pm local time, 11:36 pm IST: England beat West Indies by 3 wickets and take a lead of 2-0 in the three-match ODI series
And there you have it, a masterful chase to end the game. Handshakes all around and applause in the English pavilion, and England continues their summer juggernaut of winning series after series with this win against the West Indies. That means Harry Brook registers his first series win as England ODI skipper.
It looked like this was going to be a tough chase early on, with England losing both their openers cheaply. However, Joe Root and Harry Brook then put together a good partnership in the middle that ensured that there was a good foundation set for the chase. Brook was dismissed, but Root was joined in the middle by Will Jacks, with the pair adding 100 runs for the sixth wicket. However, Jacks fell a run short of another ODI 50, and then it was Joe Root's masterclass as he registered his first score in excess of 150 in ODIs and won England the game.
West Indies had only one bowler stand out in a target defence in Alzarri Joseph. The tall pacer managed to prize four wickets on this track and conceded only 31 runs in his 10-over spell. But he failed to get enough assistance from the others, with Seales, Matthew Forde, and Roston Chase picking up one wicket each. Forde and Gudakesh Motie were expensive in their respective bowling spell, with Motie also going wicketless and being taken to the cleaners.
Let's now go down to hear what the Player of the Match and the captains have to say.
48.5 Jayden Seales to Joe Root, FOUR! ENGLAND WIN AND TAKE THE SERIES 2-0! Joe Root's masterclass takes England over the line, what an innings and it's his best individual score as well. That 14 unused ball came back to haunt West Indies here as it turned out to be a close game in the end.
Length delivery on the stumps, Root with a straight face of the blade and creams it past the man at mid-on, races away to seal the game.
48.4 Jayden Seales to Joe Root, change of pace, back of a length on fourth stump. Root hacks it past mid-wicket and they get back for a brace. Scores are level!
48.3 Jayden Seales to Adil Rashid, back of a length on middle and off. Rashid misses the flick, thuds on the thigh pad and quick to hare across for a tight leg-bye.
48.2 Jayden Seales to Adil Rashid, OH MY! Nasty bumper from Seales, gets Rashid into an awkward position, gets a leading edge that doesn't carry to the backward point fielder. Rashid takes evasive action at the end of it.
48.1 Jayden Seales to Joe Root, back of a length on middle and off. Root flicked it behind square on the on-side for a single. England need just four now!
Due to slow over rate, West Indies are penalized and need to bring an extra fielder inside the circle

47.6 Matthew Forde to Adil Rashid, OH! Length delivery on the off-stump, Rashid gets inside the line and defends.
47.5 Matthew Forde to Adil Rashid, BIG SHOUTS FOR LBW, NOT GIVEN! Forde with celebrappeal and the umpire is unmoved. That looked stone-dead from the moment it struck Rashid and Hope reviews it. Back of a length, tailed in late on the off-stump. Rashid presses to defend and misses, pings on the back pad.
UltraEdge comes up, shows there's a spike as the ball passes the inside edge of the bat. Rashid survives!
47.4 Matthew Forde to Adil Rashid, FOUR! Beats fine-leg fielder and it's another boundary for England, inch closer to victory now. Short and angling in, Rashid finds top edge of the pull, goes fine and races away to beat the fielder.
England Scored 300 runs in 47.3 overs
47.3 Matthew Forde to Joe Root, back of a length on off-stump, Root swipes it to deep square-leg for one.
47.2 Matthew Forde to Joe Root, saw the batter shaping up for a ramp shot, Forde goes full and wide of off-stump. Root adjusts quickly, and dabs it to short third for a dot.
47.1 Matthew Forde to Adil Rashid, full on middle and leg. Rashid clipped it towards wide mid-on, fielder dives to his right and stops it.
England need 11 runs in 18 deliveries. They could take 6 deliveries to get this done, maybe 12 or maybe all 18. Let's see how things pan out in this Matthew Forde [8-0-70-0] over
