That brings us to the conclusion of Match 45. RCB have now raked up back to back wins. However, this match would be remembered for Will Jacks' first IPL hundred. It was indeed a whirlwind knock that had us all gasping for air towards the end of it. Gujarat Titans will go back to the drawing board as they ponder upon what went wrong. They seemed to have enough initially but ended up losing with 4 complete overs to spare. This would indeed dent their confidence going forward. However, the action continues. Will Jacks (Player of the Match): Amazing feeling right now. Faf and Virat took us to a great start. Virat kept the intensity as I found my way in. I was struggling initially. Once we had the time-out, we said let's get two really good overs and win the game. I was trying to hit it too hard. It is a great feeling and a learning curve to spend some time out in the middle with Virat. Once I hit the first six, I found my mojo.

Faf du Plessis (Royal Challengers Bengaluru Captain): I thought it was a really good wicket. I thought it was a score we could go after. But I didn't think we would chase it in 16 overs. The last two games have been really good and the confidence seems to be filtering through. You look at the scores and think, "Bowlers, what are you doing?" but that is not the case. The game has changed so much. The match against KKR was a line in the sand moment for us.

Virat Kohli: Phenomenal ball striking, initially when he came into bat, he was bit annoyed that he couldn't strike the ball like he wanted to, but the only conversation we had is to keep backing yourself, keep committing, because we know how explosive he can be. My role changed after that Mohit's over and I was glad to watch that from the other end, we thought we will finish in 19, but it's remarkable to finish in 15 overs, one of the better T20 hundred one would've watched, I was having fun at the other end. The wicket was pretty good, towards the later half their innings, it started to settle down, reason why we wanted to bowl first. The temperature settled down as well, being a little cooler in the evening, the wicket just tends to settle down and the ball comes on nicely, was having fun out there, stepped up whenever I needed to, just keep up the required run-rate, we never dropped below 10 in an over, and allowed what Jacks did. (On his phenomenal run in this season) Not really, all the people who talk about strike rates, me not playing spin well, are the one's who love talking about this stuff but for me, it's all about winning the game for the team, and the reason why you do it for fifteen years, done it day in and day out. If you're not in that situation yourself to sit and speak about them in the box, I don't think it's the same thing, for me it's about doing things, people can talk about their assumptions. Those who have done day in and day out, it's kind a of muscle memory now. We wanted to step up for ourselves, play for self respect, we can't carry in a big tournament like we did in the first half. It's just about going out there and playing the cricket we want to, if you see with the ball, we're attacking the game more now, the bowlers are being more courageous, fielders are putting the body on the line, that's the way we wanted to play our cricket. We weren't up to the standards barring the two last two games, but we need to continue this, just have good atmosphere in the change room, have some self respect, why we are playing at this level and also for the fans who back us tremendously well.

Shubman Gill (Gujarat Titans captain): It was a great hitting by them, having said that, we need to come up with better plans in the next game, try and execute them. When you are batting, you can always think about 15-20 runs here and there, but at the end of the day what matters is how much have you got after 20 overs. We thought 200 was good, unfortunately didn't turn out the way we wanted. We didn't pick up wickets in the middle overs, one of our strengths and the defining moment in the game.

GOODNESS ME!!! We need a moment to catch our breathes. Will Jacks was on 17 off the first 17 balls that he played. He looked circumspect and watchful. Not quite at sea, but those cross batted strokes that he kept on missing did not inspire much confidence.

Then it is like somebody flipped a switch and he hit MODE TURBO!!! Jacks went from 17 to a hundred in just 24 balls. Yes, let that sink in. 83 runs in 24 balls. That stupendous knock overshadowed the gem that Kohli played at the other end. He looked like a million dollars too. He was full of intent, striking the ball well and running those ones and twos like he does. However, his knock has almost fallen into oblivion due to the carnage that Jacks bestowed upon us.

Spare a thought for the Gujarat Titans. They thought they had enough on the board. On a pitch where the odd ball was holding up, they had 3 quality spinners. But it all got caught up in a tornado that RCB effected. First, Kohli with his well paced knock and then Jacks with his madness.

It is indeed a thumping victory for RCB and the kind of loss that would not only effect the Titans' chances for playoffs but also dampen their confidence.
