Well then, a win by 78 runs for CSK! That is huge in a T20 game. The match was critical for both the sides and the homeside has come out on top and in some style. CSK has moved to the third spot with a fabulous net run rate courtesy of this victory. SRH is still in the top-four, but their net run rate has taken a massive hit today. There are now five teams with 10 points and it's going to be a mad finish to determine the three teams in top-four, with Rajasthan Royals already having a foot in the Qualifiers.

Ruturaj Gaikwad (Chennai Super Kings captain and Player of the Match, 98 off 54): Feels pretty good. It was tough to play in wet conditions, but a clinical performance in the end. It was a blessing in disguise at the toss. Too hot & humid conditions, batted and fielded for 20 overs in the last game and today as well. Just wanted to take some time and not rush myself. I was never even thinking 100 run mark. It was all about getting to 220-230. In the last game, it was not about the 100. I was thinking about that 10-15 extra runs. I was disappointed that I couldn't get away some 4-5 extra hits in the last overs. I was upset during the innings break thinking whether that could be the difference. It was enough in the end though. In the last game, we made some errors, there were some loose balls, not upto the mark in the field. We had another plan today, we were outstanding in the field, set our plans and stuck to it. With the impact player rule, you always want that 20 runs, never know what the par score is. That was one area we were struggling, not getting wickets in powerplay. It puts pressure on opposition, and it's the only way to put them on the backfoot. He (Tushar Deshpande) is putting a lot hard work throughout season, and the previous seasons as well, and it's paying off now. Special mention to Jaddu. In those wet conditions, giving away just 22 runs, that was the turning point for me. Everyone is experienced, you can't tell the seniors what to do and what not to do. So I just let them do their thing.

Tushar Deshpande: I mean it was good. When we came to bowl it was just about having patience against this SRH batting line up who were going after the bowlers in the powerplay. That worked for us. Bowling that length in the powerplay is very crucial. Even if the batter is hitting I try to bowl the same length and force him to play that shot again. Yeah the ground was soaking wet, it swung for a few bowlers but it went away very soon. The deliveries into the surface worked very well. No we had a specific plan that even if they hit the good ball we will bowl the same line. I tried to stick to my strengths and it paid dividends today.

Pat Cummins (Sunrisers Hyderabad captain): Not really you know we felt that was the best chance to win but it didn't come off tonight. I thought they batted really well to 210. With our batting line up we felt we were in with a chance but fell well short in the end. Nothing went right for us in the match but nothing to worry about regarding the batters. They have won matches. The conditions were dewey even in the first innings. Just a couple of games, we will bounce back quickly.

It turned out to be a walk in the park for CSK in the end. SRH was never in the game when it came to chasing down the total. They had a batting line-up which was in form, but couldn't deliver on this day. SRH was eyeing to reverse two trends today - not winning while chasing this season, and not winning ever at Chepauk. Both those trends remain unharmed at the end of the game.

SRH have relied heavily on the start given by the openers in the powerplay. The huge starts gave the perfect platform for the power-packed middle-order to take full toll of. However, it wasn't to happen today Tushar Deshpande dealt a massive blow, dismissing the top-three within the powerplay. The ploy was clear and they executed it to perfection. CSK maintained a deep point throughout the powerplay and bowled cutters wide of the stumps. Both Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head fell to this plan.

Aiden Markram has never looked fluent during this season, and it was yet another patchy innings from him. And so was it from Heinrich Klaasen, though he has been in good form off late. The innings just didn't get moving after the fall of Abhishek Sharma's wicket. It was like driving wit the handbrakes on.

It was an excellent day out on the field for every CSK bowler. Deepak Chahar bowled well inside the powerplay, which meant that they had plenty of options at the back-end. Ravindra Jadeja bowled a brilliant spell in the middle, choking the SRH batters and ensuring that the required rate kept going up. Matheesha Pathirana produced his magic yorker to which Markram had no answer to.

Shardul Thakur seemed to have found some form today. It will be important for CSK, especially with Mustafizur set to leave soon for national duty. But the pick of the bowlers was Tushar Deshpande. His three wickets in the powerplay really turned the game around for CSK and there was no coming back for SRH after that.

18.5 Mustafizur Rahman to Jaydev Unadkat, STRAIGHT TO EXTRA COVER! AND THAT IS THAT! The Fizz wraps things up as Chepauk erupts after being silenced a few nights ago. Full outside the off stump from around the wicket. Unadkat holds his ground looking to flay it over extra cover but gets hardly any elevation. Smears it flat to Moeen at extra cover who makes no mistake and this is one good old-fashioned hammering that CSK have handed the Orange Army today. Chennai Super Kings return to winning ways with a whopping 78-run win!

18.2 Mustafizur Rahman to Shahbaz Ahmed, CATCH NUMBER FIVE FOR MITCHELL! Go buy the lottery tonight Daz! Leg-lined full length delivery but the Fizz imparts some serious wrist into that one. Shahbaz picks it up with the angle but does not get enough distance as Mitchell crouches by the edge of the ropes at deep backward square leg and pouches it carefully. SRH are one wicket away from being bundled out!
